Fun times, Fun times....

Am I back at college or what?......

Being back in Champaign for this week is a little weird. I feel as if I don't belong. Like I'm an impostor college student.

But hey...I can still act like one!

After a day of visiting some of my bestest friends (Kelli, Becca, Luz) I met a bunch of Education people at the same Mexican restaurant from my previous "college" blog.

We had a great time, a few margaritas, and experienced a little deja vu. By that, I mean me and my girlfriends received free shots from our waiter. I don't know what it is, but those waiters sure do love us.

Yet when almost everyone was getting ready to leave, Melissa, Liz, Jimmy (one of our guy friends) and I heard from someone else a little college rumor. Something about a person buried underneath an old university building....

So we decided to do a little exploring.

The four of us headed in the dead of night to NOYES laboratory. We walked the dark empty halls for 20 minutes or so, before finally finding our way towards a basement.

Through the basement we walked, through long, winding hallways completely deserted. Eventually we found a gated off storage room. Curiously, it was unlocked. We opened the large gate, found a light switch and explored the room. Towards the back was a wall which had been closed off with bricks. Yet a slight opening remained, and we each after much debate, squeezed through to a tiny, pitch black cellar. The room was full of dust, and after much searching we found an old light switch that lit up another entryway a few steps away.

We entered the new found room, which had little to no light and found.....a GRAVE!!

Towards the back of the room there was a coffin size which seems to have been dug up at least once. It had at least a 1 ft. depression. Behind the grave size hole was a faded, sepia photo of a man! At the front of the grave was a cross stake, with a very old, dried up flower attached.

We touched, jumped in, and generally harassed the grave until we got very suspicious of noises we heard above us. When we entered the other cellar, the noises got louder! I flicked off the light and we all became silent, aware that someone knew our presence was there. We quickly jumped through the brick hole, ran out of the gated storage room, and ran as quick as we could through hallways towards the cellar. At one point I saw a female janitor watching us, probably the one who made the noises.

Yes, I realize the grave was most likely a college student hoax. But how brilliantly fun for a "second" to last night of college.

Can I not grow up please?

Nuisance

Why oh why do I have to write a multi-page Teaching philosophy statement, multi-page Social Sciences Teaching philosophy statement, and a multi-page Classroom Management philosophy statement?

Aren't they, in essence, all inter-related and thusly could be made into ONE philosophy statement?

I would like it if I could spent less time completing bullshit requirements and more time learning how to be an actual effective teacher.

Ms. Grace

I went to "ElLar" on Monday to meet my two Co-ops I will be working under while student teaching.

Naught but three minutes after walking in the building for the first time, I fell in front of an office member and a cluster of students, one who proclaimed, "I tried to catch you!"

It was no ordinary fall either. It was a drawn-out, slippery and sliding, film-worthy fall.

Ah yes, true Whitney fashion.

Lets hope that was my one clumsy moment of the semester.

....Yeah, right.

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

I haven't blogged in forever and ever.

But do you really want the play by play of my time off? Do you really care about my Sims games, my TV watching, my lazy days?

Lets be honest; I'm saving you guys blogs that may bore you to tears. Yes...that's it.......I'm doing you a favor.

You're welcome.

---------------------------------

But Really, I haven't been doing much. My Christmas and New Years were fun, and my time off has been very relaxing. I have one more week of break (ie: one more week of lack o' blogs), then I return to school for a week. Then, student teaching begins.

Yikes!

Oh, and I have yet to get a part-time job here. I think I'm too traumatized from my last sexually-harassed, drama-filled, experience.

P.S. If I were allowed to talk about Spaghetti Cat I would have to mention that he was Talk Soup's person of the Year. But since I'm not allowed to......

Heaven

Can I just thank the genius who decided to give us college kids a 4 week winter break?

Brilliant.

You may think having nothing to do for a month would get boring. But it is glorious. Purely glorious.

Just a College Night

Go out with a bang. That must have been the motto of last night, because it was the epitome of a college night out. It involved drunkenness, fights, falling, randomness, and Jimmy Johns.

It all started out innocent enough. Three friends and I (Mel and Liz) went to a Mexican restaurant, and since we were celebrating, ordered Monster Margaritas on the Rocks. Turns out a Monster Margarita is 45 oz. of nearly straight tequila. To give you some perspective, 60 oz. is a pitcher. Then, halfway through our meal, our waiter brought us tequila shots on the house! Amazing? I'd say yes.

After mucho drinking we decided to go to a BDubs (Buffalo Wild Wings) and each had a good three beers. I also apparently sent some inappropriate text messages to Kyle's little brother. Hey, it happens.

We then thought a movie was in store, to which we headed to the theater, to which I discovered my phone was missing. Back to BDubs, looked for a good 20 minutes, until Mel asked me if maybe, just maybe, the phone was in my pocket. Oh. Who would have thought? She then tackled me, we slipped on ice, fell hard and laughed hysterically (drunkenly) for about five minutes.

Finally we made it to the movie, which we were 10 minutes late for, which we therefore couldn't comprehend. After 20 minutes, we decided to leave. On our way out, Mel broke a movie promotion by sitting on top of it, and Liz somehow got our money back. I really don't remember how that happened.

We then worked our way to Firehaus, found some of our guy friends there, shared two fishbowls (biggest mistake), and got in a fight.
Fight 1, coat is sitting on a stool I need, I push coat off of stool, sit on stool. Bitchy girl comes to me and says "Ummmmm excuse me there was a coat sitting on that chair. I was saving it" "Oh, I'm sorry, was someone sitting here?" "No...." "oh, Well what is the problem then?" I turn around, and about 5 of her friends come over, and yell at me and my friends. (To which I'm pretty sure we won, because I stayed on the stool, and they walked away). Was it a bitchy move on my part? Maybe.
Fight 2, after we had been outside on our phones, and were coming back into the bar, the same bitchy girl looks at us and starts yelling at Liz to shut the door because its "soooooo cold." I'm pretty sure Liz said some snotty remark, because the girl pushed Liz! Mel, who was closest, started yelling at bitchy girl, got in her face, and then bitchy girl punched Mel in the forehead and ran away like a puss!!!
Well, this caused quite the scene as you can imagine, and we were either asked to leave by management, or left on our own. I don't quite remember those details either.

Next, after driving around with our guy friends (with a DD) we decided to go to Brothers. This involved more drinking, dancing, and a full cup of beer being spilled in my hair. Gotta love it.

Then, Jimmy Johns. A "quick" trip for some food turned into a 45 minute wait when old Jimmy ran out of bread.

Followed by a 20 minute walk home in the freezing weather, to which my windburned face and bright red lips can still attest to today. Finally, a sleepover for me and Mel in my apartment.

Bedtime: 4:30am.
Memories: Forever. (Sorry, I know that was unGodly lame)

I's done with College!

Exhibit C

I would really love to please my blog readers, and tell the most-likely annoyed that this is going to be my last post on the famed Spaghetti Cat.

Yet......

I just don't give a shit. I love him, and that's all that matters. It's called: "Getting Whitney through her last 3 days of college" people.

Exhibit B

I would really love my senior thesis paper to be utterly fascinating and amazing. And I would also really love to pass my last final on Monday with flying colors.

Yet.......

I just don't care anymore about writing a good (last) paper of my undergrad career. And as much as I don't want to fail, I don't care to put any effort whatsoever into studying for my Monday final.

I don't want to let others down. But I just. don't. give. a. shit. anymore.

Senoritas.
