Fun times, Fun times....

Am I back at college or what?......

Being back in Champaign for this week is a little weird. I feel as if I don't belong. Like I'm an impostor college student.

But hey...I can still act like one!

After a day of visiting some of my bestest friends (Kelli, Becca, Luz) I met a bunch of Education people at the same Mexican restaurant from my previous "college" blog.

We had a great time, a few margaritas, and experienced a little deja vu. By that, I mean me and my girlfriends received free shots from our waiter. I don't know what it is, but those waiters sure do love us.

Yet when almost everyone was getting ready to leave, Melissa, Liz, Jimmy (one of our guy friends) and I heard from someone else a little college rumor. Something about a person buried underneath an old university building....

So we decided to do a little exploring.

The four of us headed in the dead of night to NOYES laboratory. We walked the dark empty halls for 20 minutes or so, before finally finding our way towards a basement.

Through the basement we walked, through long, winding hallways completely deserted. Eventually we found a gated off storage room. Curiously, it was unlocked. We opened the large gate, found a light switch and explored the room. Towards the back was a wall which had been closed off with bricks. Yet a slight opening remained, and we each after much debate, squeezed through to a tiny, pitch black cellar. The room was full of dust, and after much searching we found an old light switch that lit up another entryway a few steps away.

We entered the new found room, which had little to no light and found.....a GRAVE!!

Towards the back of the room there was a coffin size which seems to have been dug up at least once. It had at least a 1 ft. depression. Behind the grave size hole was a faded, sepia photo of a man! At the front of the grave was a cross stake, with a very old, dried up flower attached.

We touched, jumped in, and generally harassed the grave until we got very suspicious of noises we heard above us. When we entered the other cellar, the noises got louder! I flicked off the light and we all became silent, aware that someone knew our presence was there. We quickly jumped through the brick hole, ran out of the gated storage room, and ran as quick as we could through hallways towards the cellar. At one point I saw a female janitor watching us, probably the one who made the noises.

Yes, I realize the grave was most likely a college student hoax. But how brilliantly fun for a "second" to last night of college.

Can I not grow up please?
